The study investigates the role of polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (PIGR) as a potential biomarker for liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. By analyzing data from 150 patients, the study finds that PIGR levels are significantly higher in patients with liver fibrosis and positively correlate with other fibrosis markers. PIGR demonstrated high diagnostic accuracy with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.839, making it a promising non-invasive tool for early liver fibrosis detection.
