A study evaluated plasma-based apoE4 proteotyping as an alternative to genotyping for identifying APOE ε4 carriers, crucial for Alzheimer's treatment decisions. Using CLEIA and NULISA assays in 164 memory-clinic patients, CLEIA showed 100% sensitivity and 98.5% specificity, while NULISA demonstrated high accuracy. Findings support a two-step approach for APOE ε4 screening before genetic testing.
