PlGF Outperforms PAPP-A for Preterm Pre-Eclampsia Screening in First Trimester

The study evaluates the efficacy of pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) and placental growth factor (PlGF) in screening for preterm pre-eclampsia (PE). The findings reveal that while PAPP-A offers limited value in predicting preterm PE, PlGF significantly improves detection rates between 10–14 weeks of gestation, especially when combined with maternal factors and other markers.
