The study investigates the impact of long-term PM2.5 exposure on chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) pathogenesis, specifically its association with CRS with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP). A retrospective analysis of 376 patients revealed that higher PM2.5 exposure was an independent predictor of CRSwNP development. Additionally, PM2.5 exposure was associated with decreased IL-10 levels in control patients. These findings highlight the potential role of environmental factors in CRS with nasal polyposis.
