A study of 1,001 Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) found that poor sleep quality is significantly associated with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Higher Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores correlated with lower Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scores. Sleep disturbance, latency, and efficiency were key factors. Findings highlight the need for sleep-focused interventions in T2DM care.
