Post-PCI Myocardial Injury Linked to Higher Long-Term Mortality, Study Finds

A study of 10,807 elective PCI patients at NYU Langone Health found that 16.8% experienced post-PCI myocardial injury, which was linked to a 46% increased risk of long-term mortality. Older age, severe coronary calcification, and multivessel PCI were key predictors. The findings highlight the need for improved post-PCI risk assessment.
