This retrospective study determined whether postoperative radiotherapy is necessary for patients with FIGO 2018 stage IIA1 cervical squamous cell carcinoma and only one intermediate-risk factor. The results showed that patients without adjuvant therapy had lower overall survival (OS) but no difference in disease-free survival (DFS). Not receiving adjuvant therapy was identified as an independent risk factor for patient mortality. Additionally, when stratified by tumor diameter, patients with a diameter >2 cm who received postoperative radiotherapy had higher OS, and not receiving adjuvant therapy was again identified as an independent risk factor for patient mortality. Therefore, postoperative radiotherapy may be beneficial for improving prognosis in these patients.
