This retrospective study evaluates the costs and benefits of preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) in in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles across different age groups. The study results revealed a negative correlation between age and embryos produced, PGT-A costs, and euploidy rates. Morphology-based embryo selection predicted top-quality euploid embryos 78% of the time in the <35 groups but only 32% in ≥38 groups, with a lower agreement for ≤3 blastocysts. The study suggests considering PGT-A for maternal age ≥38 due to lower costs and the likelihood of transferring euploid embryos.
