Screening esophagogastroduodenoscopy is crucial for early detection of upper gastrointestinal cancer. To enhance access for patients with pancreaticobiliary disease, the study conducted esophagogastroduodenoscopy before endoscopic ultrasonography. The study, spanning April 2020 to September 2022, examined 615 cases, revealing a 2.0% detection rate of epithelial neoplasms. Notably, open-type gastric mucosal atrophy and magnification endoscopy significantly influenced detection. Comparing the protocol to the medical checkup centre, the study approach exhibited a substantially higher gastric epithelial neoplasm detection rate (1.6% vs 0.2%). This underscores the potential recommendation for screening esophagogastroduodenoscopy before endoscopic ultrasonography in pancreaticobiliary disease cases.
