This review evaluated studies conducted over the past 20 years, focusing on the challenges faced by low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) regarding pre-eclampsia morbidity and mortality. The prevention and early detection of pre-eclampsia pose major challenges in LMICs due to social and economic factors. Strategies to address this issue include public policies for managing preventable conditions, early recognition of severity signs, self-monitoring of symptoms and blood pressure, and the use of preventive measures.
