This study analyzed synovial biopsies from 140 Early Rheumatoid Arthritis patients to identify predictors of Methotrexate response. By assessing histological features, particularly fibrinoid necrosis, and immunohistochemical markers, the study found that higher fibrinoid necrosis and CD68 scores correlated with increased disease activity and better treatment response. The combination of these markers with clinical features improved the accuracy of predicting EULAR response at three months.
