The study revealed that approximately 71% of soldiers experienced postoperative injuries, with meniscal procedures being the most common surgery (39%). Significant predictors for postoperative injury included previous nonknee injuries, female sex, and Black race. Additionally, 17% of soldiers were medically discharged from the military due to knee-related disability within four years after surgery. Factors such as enlisted rank, fitness test failure, and previous knee surgeries were associated with higher discharge rates.
