
A recent study conducted on 1230 apparently healthy individuals with metabolic dysfunction investigated controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) as a non-invasive measure for hepatic fat content. Predominantly male participants (82.9%), aged 53.8 ± 6.4 years, exhibited correlations between CAP and liver stiffness. In-depth analysis identified fasting insulin, abdominal circumference, and body mass index as key determinants. The study also revealed a link between thyroid hormone levels and CAP values. A clinical CAP score, incorporating various factors, showed promising accuracy in predicting elevated CAP values, providing valuable insights for steatotic liver disease risk stratification.
