Pregnancy BP Patterns Linked to Child Neurodevelopment

The study explored the relationship between blood pressure (BP) trajectory and variability during pregnancy and early childhood neurodevelopment in 2797 mother-newborn pairs. Five distinct BP trajectories were identified. Compared to the "Low-stable" group, children of mothers in other groups had lower Psychomotor Development Index (PDI) scores and higher risk of delayed neurodevelopment. High diastolic BP variability was linked to lower Bayley Scales of Infant Development (BSID) scores and delayed neurodevelopment.
