Prenatal ultrasound use and risk of autism spectrum disorder: Findings from the case‐control Study to Explore Early Development

The study conducted during 2007–2012 and involving 1524 singleton pregnancies, observed that ultrasound indications were slightly more common for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) cases. However, stratified regression models showed no significant link between increasing ultrasound counts and ASD. Trimester-specific analyses also found no association. The study's strengths included standardized ASD assessments, control comparisons, and a stratified sample considering conditions related to both increased prenatal ultrasound use and ASD.
