Present status and future directions ‐ Root resorption

The loss of dental hard tissue due to odontoclastic activity is known as root resorption. It is both unwanted and pathological in permanent teeth. Root resorption, regardless of where it occurs, is irreversible and can cause pain for the patient, necessitate care, and/or result in the premature loss of the affected tooth in some circumstances.Root resorption is notoriously difficult to identify and treat. The goal of this narrative review is to offer pertinent research on the aetiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of root resorption, as well as to address future directions in root resorption diagnosis and management.
