Prevalence and burden of atopic dermatitis involving the head, neck, face, and hand

This study, utilizing the TARGET-DERM AD registry, focused on patients with moderate-to-severe AD, estimating the prevalence and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) impact of head/face/neck/hand (HFNH) involvement. Of the 541 participants, 84% reported HFNH involvement. Compared to non-HFNH involved individuals, those with HFNH involvement exhibited more severe AD and higher affected body surface area, resulting in twice the likelihood of elevated (C)DLQI and POEM scores. These findings underscore the unique challenges posed by HFNH involvement in moderate-to-severe AD.
