Prognostic Factors for Patients With KRAS Mutated Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer and Brain Metastases

A study has identified several clinical variables that can be used to predict overall survival in patients with brain metastasized KRAS mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The study included 87 patients with brain metastasized KRAS mut NSCLC. The researchers found that ECOG performance status, age, number of brain metastases, presence of extracranial disease, adenocarcinoma histology, CNS radiotherapy, and surgery for brain metastasis were all statistically significant variables affecting overall survival.
