The study included 1414 patients with cardiomyopathy. It found that the increase in mitral regurgitation-fraction was associated with a higher risk of adverse events in both ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) and non-ICM (NICM) patients. Optimal thresholds for moderate and severe functional mitral regurgitation were identified as ≥20% and ≥35%, respectively, for both ICM and NICM. Additionally, the interaction between mitral regurgitation-fraction and late gadolinium enhancement was significant in ICM but not in NICM.
