A new study examined associations between different combinations of aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities with mortality. Researchers analyzed data from 500,705 US adults over 10 years. Balanced activity levels of moderate and vigorous aerobic exercise with recommended muscle strengthening were linked to optimal reductions in all-cause, cardiovascular, and cancer mortality risks. Notably, engaging in more than recommended aerobic activity further lowered cancer and all-cause mortality risk. The study highlights the potential benefits of specific activity combinations for different mortality outcomes, emphasizing the importance of tailored exercise regimens for health.
