Prostatic urethral lift effectively improves urinary symptoms in high-risk older patients with BPH

The study compared the outcomes of prostatic urethral lift (PUL) and bipolar transurethral enucleation of the prostate (TUEB) in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in older patients. Results showed that PUL significantly improved urinary symptoms, including incomplete emptying, intermittency, and weak stream. Despite TUEB showing better results in certain symptoms and maximum flow rate, PUL had advantages such as shorter operative time and fewer complications. The study suggests that PUL is an effective and safe option for high-risk older patients with BPH, highlighting its potential benefits over TUEB.
