The randomized controlled trial compared percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) to sham TENS in 65 women with female sexual dysfunction (FSD). After 12 weeks, 48% of PTNS patients versus 29% of controls improved above the FSFI threshold. While overall FSFI gains were similar, women without baseline urinary issues showed significantly greater satisfaction with PTNS, suggesting a targeted neuromodulatory benefit.
