Eighteen individuals have reportedly lost vision in one eye after undergoing a cataract operation at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan. These patients, most of whom were treated under the government's Chiranjeevi health scheme, complained of severe eye pain and were readmitted to the hospital. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, some even exceeding two, they were unable to regain their lost vision. The patients believe that the cause of vision loss is an infection.
