
SETTLE and CASTLE, rare intrathyroid tumors, show significantly lower survival rates than papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). A study of NCDB data (2004–2020) found these tumors were larger, had lymphovascular invasion, and required external radiation and chemotherapy instead of radioactive iodine. SETTLE was linked to a higher mortality risk, highlighting the need for tailored treatment strategies.
