Real-life experiences with galcanezumab and predictors for treatment response

Researchers explored the real-world efficacy and safety of galcanezumab, an anti-CGRP monoclonal antibody in 476 migraine patients in Turkey. Administered by headache specialists, 89.3% of participants found galcanezumab beneficial, noting reductions in frequency (80.0%), severity (85.7%), and acute medication use (71.4%) for migraines. Adverse effects were reported in 16.3%, with no serious reactions. Notably, 14.3% reported complete headache resolution, and 18.9% didn't require acute treatment. The study suggested that galcanezumab is safe and effective in reducing both the ictal and interictal burden of migraines in a real-world setting.
