In a retrospective cohort study using IQVIA PharMetrics Plus claims data, mepolizumab, an anti‐interleukin 5 monoclonal antibody, was found effective for US patients with severe asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) with/without sinus surgery. After mepolizumab initiation, there was a decrease in systemic and oral corticosteroid use for all cohorts, and asthma exacerbations were reduced by 28% to 44%. The most significant benefits were observed in patients with severe asthma, comorbid CRS, and sinus surgery. Outpatient and emergency visits, as well as asthma-related costs, were also reduced during follow-up.
