This study investigated the relationship between reductions in HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar control) and body weight through tirzepatide treatment at different doses (5, 10, or 15 mg). The analysis involved data from several clinical trials at 40 and 52 weeks. The results showed that most participants treated with tirzepatide experienced reductions in HbA1c (ranging from 96% to 99% across doses) and weight loss associated with HbA1c reductions (ranging from 87% to 97%). Statistically significant but modest correlations between HbA1c and body weight changes were observed in specific trials, indicating both weight-independent and weight-dependent mechanisms contributing to the improvement in blood sugar control with tirzepatide.
