
This study investigates the largely unexplored role of tropomyosin 2 (TPM2) in breast cancer progression using 155 breast cancer tissues. Immunohistochemical staining and grading reveal significantly down-regulated TPM2 expression, correlating with lymph node metastasis and high-grade histopathological morphology. Bioinformatics analysis indicates TPM2 involvement in various pathways, including extracellular matrix organization and immune-related processes. TPM2 demonstrates potential diagnostic value according to receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. The study suggests TPM2 as a potential biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis and highlights its potential roles in cancer occurrence, development, and metastasis, validated through in vitro co-culture experiments with macrophages.
