A phase 3 multicenter trial (REZOR) compared the efficacy and safety of rezivertinib (180 mg) and gefitinib (250 mg) as first-line treatments for EGFR-mutated locally advanced or metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Among 369 randomized patients, rezivertinib significantly prolonged median progression-free survival (19.3 vs. 9.6 months; HR 0.48, p<0.0001) compared to gefitinib. Both treatments had comparable rates of treatment-emergent and treatment-related adverse events.
