The study aimed to identify factors contributing to bowel preparation failure in colonoscopy patients and develop a risk prediction model. Out of 1115 outpatients randomly assigned into modelling (669) and validation (446) groups, logistic regression analysis revealed age ≥ 60 years, male gender, BMI ≥ 24, smoking, chronic constipation, diabetes, and colorectal surgery history as significant risk factors. The model exhibited good predictive accuracy (ROC AUC: 0.732 in modelling, 0.713 in validation), offering a valuable tool for identifying high-risk patients.
