Risk factors of positive depression screening during the third trimester of pregnancy in a Chinese tertiary hospital

Pregnant women in their third trimester face significant psychological pressure, with symptoms of depression persisting postpartum. A study with 1196 participants revealed a 9.9% positive screening rate for depressive symptoms. Factors influencing depression included living away from the partner, an annual family income below 150,000 CNY, poor sleep quality, and the partner's frequent drinking. Independent risk factors for positive depression screening were identified as living apart from the partner, low annual family income, poor sleep quality, and the partner's regular drinking habit. This highlights the need for increased support for pregnant women with these risk factors to prevent depression.
