The present study aims to evaluate the association between Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS) and five co-morbid conditions: asthma, non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and obstructive sleep apnea. The study was conducted as a prospective cohort study among primary care patients using a medical and symptom questionnaire in 2014 and 2020. The results showed moderate to severe CRS (with or without electronic health record evidence) was associated with increased odds of new-onset and prevalent disease for all five co-morbid conditions. The findings suggest that CRS may be a target for preventing and early detection of these conditions.
