A phase I/II clinical trial of a new COVID-19 vaccine called "Betuvax-CoV-2" has been conducted, which is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine based on the S-protein RBD fused with the Fc-fragment of IgG. The trial involved 116 healthy adult men and women, ages 18-58, who were given different doses of the vaccine or a placebo, and the safety and immunogenicity of the vaccine were evaluated. The results showed that the vaccine was safe and well-tolerated, and induced a strong humoral response. The authors conclude that further research is needed to determine the protective effectiveness of the vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19.
