A study delving into salt sensitivity has unveiled crucial insights into blood pressure responses involving 51 healthy normotensive individuals who investigated the effects of salt intake on body fluid, vascular tone, and autonomic cardiac response. Surprisingly, salt sensitivity was not linked to extracellular fluid expansion. Instead, it was associated with an inability to reduce systemic vascular resistance (SVR) when subjected to high salt intake. These findings provide valuable insights into salt-induced blood pressure changes.
