A study within the PROSPR-I consortium analyzed screening practices beyond recommended ages for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers in individuals aged 75-89. Results revealed that, after aging out, around 30% continued breast cancer screening, 2% for cervical, and nearly 5% for colorectal. Median screening years past guidelines were 5, 3, and 4, respectively. Notably, colorectal screening exhibited the smallest decline with age. Comorbidity influenced breast and cervical screenings but not colorectal. The findings underscore the importance of shared decision tools and further research for older populations.
