The study investigated the feasibility of using flexible endoscopy-guided tracer injection for identifying sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) in patients with laryngeal and pharyngeal carcinoma. Sixteen patients underwent tracer injections and SPECT-CT scans, with successful identification of SLNs in 15 of the 16 patients. The median duration of the procedure was 7 minutes, and a total of 28 SLNs were identified in neck levels II and III. The authors conclude that this method is a feasible and fast procedure for SLN identification in these patients.
