Shared determinants of poor sleep and adolescent obesity include socioenvironmental, behavioural, and health-related factors. A systematic review of 80 studies highlights key factors such as gender, ethnicity, physical activity timing, unhealthy diets, and screen time. Addressing modifiable behavioral factors like sleep hygiene and diet, while considering socioenvironmental determinants, can guide interventions to improve sleep and reduce adolescent obesity.
