After one year, clearance rates were 62.4% (SDL-PDT) vs. 91.8% (C-PDT) (p < 0.001), disproving non-inferiority. SDL-PDT caused significantly less pain (NRS 0.1 vs. 3.5–3.7; p < 0.001). Despite lower efficacy, 87.5% of patients preferred SDL-PDT. SDL-PDT may be an alternative for pain-sensitive individuals.

An experimental triple antibiotic paste containing nitrofurantoin, ciprofloxacin, and metronidazole showed better cytocompatibility than conventional Hoshino antibiotic pastes and calcium hydroxide in human dental pulp stem cells. The paste maintained about 75% metabolic activity and better preserved cell viability, supporting further investigation as a medicament for regenerative endodontic procedures.

As a single-arm study, the findings are descriptive and require controlled confirmation.
