A study evaluated the attitudes of single men who cryopreserved sperm before life-threatening medical situations towards post-mortem usage. Out of 452 diverse participants, only a small percentage willed their sperm for posthumous reproduction. The majority ordered the destruction of their cryopreserved sperm. Results emphasize the need to consider individual circumstances rather than assuming consent in cases of unplanned perimortem collection.
