The SMARTER trial assessed adherence to self-monitoring (SM) and weight-loss goals in SM-only vs. SM + feedback (FB) groups over 12 months. While adherence declined over time, the SM + FB group showed a slower decline. Higher adherence to dietary, physical activity, and weight-tracking goals increased the likelihood of ≥5% weight loss. Findings highlight the potential of feedback-driven interventions in sustaining self-monitoring and enhancing weight-loss success.
