
The study found that SNX5 is highly expressed in gastric cancer (GC) and promotes tumor progression. Its upregulation is associated with poor prognosis in GC patients. Mechanistically, SNX5 interacts with low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 (LRP5) and inhibits its internalization, promoting its recycling to the cell membrane. This prevents LRP5 degradation in the lysosome, leading to β-catenin stabilization, activation of the Wnt signaling pathway, and tumorigenesis.
