Social Factors and Deprivation Impact Kidney Health

The GLOMMS-CORE study explores how individual and neighborhood-level social and deprivation factors affect kidney health in the North of Scotland (2011-2021). It links individual census records to kidney health data, identifying how socioeconomic position and living circumstances influence early and advanced kidney disease. Results show that both household and neighborhood deprivation increase mortality rates, with unskilled or unemployed households facing the greatest risks.
