Perceived social support and emotional self-disclosure promote posttraumatic growth (PTG) in children. A longitudinal study of 351 typhoon-affected children in China found that social support and emotional disclosure were mutually reinforcing, with both contributing to PTG over time. Mediation analyses confirmed bidirectional influences. Findings suggest that post-disaster interventions should enhance social support and encourage emotional expression to foster resilience.
