A systematic review and meta-analysis of 11 clinical trials involving 428 adults found that stevia consumption had no significant effect on appetite scores (very low to moderate certainty of evidence). Subgroup analysis showed a slight increase in desire to eat with oral stevia intake (WMD: 0.45; 95% CI: 0.009, 0.89; P = 0.046). Limited data on energy intake precluded meta-analysis. While stevia does not significantly impact appetite, long-term studies are needed for more definitive conclusions.
