Study Compared Sleep Patterns and Clinical Features between Preschool and School‐Age Children with OSA

A recent study assessed sleep patterns and clinical disparities among young individuals with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Data from 213 children and adolescents who underwent polysomnography (PSG) were analyzed. Results showed significant differences between preschool and school-age groups, with higher OSA indicators and lower oxygen levels in the latter. Adenoid hypertrophy was more common in preschoolers, while obesity prevailed in school-age children. Sleep stage variations were observed in the school-age group. These findings emphasize the need for age-specific approaches in diagnosing and managing sleep-related disorders among the youth.
