A study compared the clinical outcomes of total hip arthroplasty (THA) using the direct anterior approach (DAA) with either the no hip extension (NHE) or traditional hip extension (THE) strategy. Analyzing data from 123 patients , it was found that the NHE group, mainly comprising elderly and young female patients, exhibited shorter operative times and comparable clinical outcomes to the group. Complications were minimal and similar between the two groups. The study suggests that employing the NHE strategy in THA with DAA may offer advantages, including favourable surgical times, making it a viable option for elderly and young female patients.
