Study Finds Lasmiditan 200 mg More Effective Than 100 mg for Migraine Relief

A study compared the efficacy of lasmiditan 200 mg versus 100 mg for treating acute migraine attacks. Seven randomized controlled trials involving 6515 patients were analyzed. Lasmiditan 200 mg significantly increased pain-free status at 2 hours (OR, 1.28; 95% CI, 1.14–1.44; P < 0.0001) and 24 hours (OR, 1.35; 95% CI, 1.14–1.60; P = 0.0005) compared to 100 mg. Lasmiditan 200 mg was associated with increased adverse events compared to 100 mg. This suggests that higher doses of lasmiditan may offer better pain relief for migraine sufferers, albeit with a higher risk of adverse events.
