A systematic review and meta-analysis examined the efficacy and safety of luseogliflozin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Eight randomized controlled trials involving 1922 patients were analyzed to compare luseogliflozin against controls or other active treatments. Results showed that luseogliflozin significantly reduced HbA1c (mean difference [MD]: −0.59%; 95% CI: −0.90 to −0.29), fasting plasma glucose (MD: −16.01 mg/dL; 95% CI: −19.46 to −12.57), postprandial glucose (MD: −36.63 mg/dL; 95% CI: −43.71 to −29.55), and body weight (MD: −1.66 kg; 95% CI: −2.23 to −1.12) compared to controls. The findings suggest that luseogliflozin effectively improves glycemic control and reduces body weight in patients with T2DM, though with notable adverse effects.
