Data from 72 pediatric patients with gastrointestinal perforations or obstructions were analyzed. Preoperative diagnosis accuracy for perforation via ultrasound was 71%, compared to 46% with upright abdominal X-ray. Symptoms such as vomiting and abdominal pain significantly increased the risk of perforation. While there were no statistical differences in demographics, certain blood markers differed between perforation and non-perforation groups. Early imaging and surgical intervention are crucial to prevent complications from magnetic bead ingestion.
