Study Reveals ABO and Rh-Positive blood groups Status are Associated with Higher Risk of SaRS-CoV-2 Infection

In a systematic review, individuals with non-O and Rh-positive blood types showed increased susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 and non-SARS-CoV-2 viral and non-viral infections. The odds ratios for SARS-CoV-2 were notably higher in non-O blood groups, and Rh-positive individuals faced elevated risks across infection categories. The findings suggest a connection between blood type and infection vulnerability, emphasizing the importance of understanding these associations for public health measures and targeted interventions.
